The Dawn of Romanitity
Truly, I waited all season for something to send me into absolute fashion orbit.
Lift me up, and send me straight into the stratosphere and beyond. And my dear friends, Fendi’s HC 2019/2020 did this on many levels. Just so many…
(If you are anti-fur, Fendi is not going to make you happy; turn back now and look the other way. I do not promote the use of fur. However, I am calling out the collection’s genius-level of artistry, and the mastery of work the house is known for.
Onward, let’s first discuss the classic Vidal Sassoon hair with its ombre glory in shades that were undeniably gorgeous.
Overall, the collection itself…powerful, elegant, feminine, sexy, and oozing with a sultriness.
The complex intarsia, mimicking geometric prints designer of vintage 70’s gorgeousness.
Masterful techniques, slicing, cutting, revealing with sheer panels that create movement in up-to-the-minute ways.
Acrylic heals bring you back to (or maybe the first time) Abba-esque style.
Inspiration
The collection’s inspiration grew from Rome… Literally. Not only did the inspiration come alive via well-worn terracotta, marble, historic polychromed walls, it also came from the greenery that punched through these areas of historical importance. So much so the collection was presented with Colosseum in the background which played a roll in the collections inspiration.
