By accepting you as a perfectly imperfect being, you begin realizing your own strengths, the one you have already and the ones you create, construct the environment for growth. Whole Self Care is a process of mental, physical and spiritual rejuvenation that creates a beautiful space for your life. By extension, it brings loved ones closer.
I understand, completely that this is not as easy as it may sound. I understand for some of you, myself included, allowing yourself to change is NOT easy. Some of us (again me included) are fighting to allow ourselves to elevate our existence. Feelings of unworthiness or self-doubt creep in, like a thief in the night and steal your vigor from under your nose. The feelings are the first sign that self-care is in order. Because, I will tell you first hand, the fight was very real for me.
By providing yourself with whole self-care, others feel the positivity and gravitate openly and naturally to your new shining light. They want to be apart if your beauty. Not just the physical, but, more importantly, the outward beautiful energy you exude. You begin to see the outward reflect the inward.
The Whole Self-Care movement has been criticized as a selfish idea. Really? I often see the people saying this are the ones themselves in pain. When we consider the idea of caring one’s self, who benefits? You of course, but your family, friends, and everyone you come into contact with. We as loving individuals need to provide the best versions of our selves possible. Saying, “possible,” because we all do not have equal time in a day to care for ourselves. But think, what is possible in the self-care movement? If you’re religious is it possible to pray and give thanks before bed or in the shower? If you are not religious, practice gratitude in the morning while brushing your teeth. How about a walk with your family or alone to destress? You’ll find you’re a bit more peaceful and not so tightly wound. Your meals, what you eat affects your mental state. Can you switch up one meal to be healthier? How about looking in the mirror and seeing yourself in a beautiful positive light? One of the simplest firsts steps.
This is a journey of many steps. But one that gives you the possibility of better, one that may just be the best step you ever take.
