This table design speaks to my senses as a designer.
Pumpkins do appear, yes but they are from the accessory closet. I keep them next to the wire hangers (throw in your best mommy dearest reference, please). But what interests me is the idea of what sparks conversation, makes people notice something is not usual in the most beautiful way. In essence, sparking joy and chat between guests.
Here rust and metal containers in the same values are filled with:
Elements were chosen based on their color and material.
None matched, (except the two rust vessels) the wood tones were similar in color but side by side and used alone, they would never work. Glass and metal pumpkins, and mismatched candles.
Napkins were from Restoration Hardware (Sadly, RH discontinued their dining linens), and rings from Pier One.
Originally the napkins were going to be a rust hue. However, it was way too much color.
This moody lavender shade did much better in refining the color story.
I decided on the vintage Arabian metal table plate as the mantle decor with a pumpkin in the same hue. So not to distract too much from the colorful table.
I hope you enjoy the design as much as I enjoy sharing it with you.
